Finally Fall

At last, you are here!!  Been waiting for you, with your cool temps, crisp air, changing foliage, apple cider, night time fires and the smell of wood burning!!  This is my most favorite time of the year......wearing bulky sweaters, wrapping up in a quilt, cooking stew or homemade soup, and of course....baking pies!!

My new camera has arrived, so I've been experimenting with it and learning new tricks.......yes, this old dog can still learn.........  Hope you enjoy this mini tour of Fall in my home.....

We'll start in the living room with the tea table.....I made the pumpkins out of red velvet.......

These haven't found a home yet.......

The sun came out briefly when I moved into the dining room, sorry for the brightness!!

The paisley shawl is my standard for Fall, she goes so well with everything!!

I like the softness of these faux flowers with the bright reds and oranges of Autumn.......

See you soon...........I have soup bubbling on the stove!!!

camera

My posting came to a screeching halt when the batteries in my camera leaked and the camera died!!  So now am awaiting the arrival of my new camera, nicely replaced by Wegman's grocery store whose batteries did the leaking!!!

So, have a few pics of Fall happening in my home before the little disc thing also rotted......

The paisley shawl has returned to the buffet for Fall, and some brown transferware is perfect for this time of year.

Isn't this the sweetest pitcher??  My latest acquisition, and it wasn't cheap, but loved it so........  Sweet girl painting a landscape on an easel.....notice her paint box and pallet with guide stick.....  it is unmarked but in super good shape.....

I've been sewing some velvet pumpkins........this one is an ivory cotton velveteen......I love the squash like shape!!!

The others are in red and blue.........but have to wait for new camera, then figure out how to use it, which will take a while.........but I am grateful and God is good, I am sooooooo blessed!!

Until then, my friends, have fun Falling........

magazine

Something exciting happened to me.....I was invited to contribute to a holiday magazine with one of my crafts!!!  They choose the star snowmen featured on my website last year........

So cute how they arranged them!!  Wonderful issue from BH&G, lotsa neat crafts to make.......pick up a copy and enjoy!!!

Ah, September !!!

A long time has passed since my last post, wish I knew where I was or what I was doing!!!  I have no clue!!! My life is not that earth shaking anyway, so no need to bore you on a daily basis......

There were many plans for table settings, vignettes, recipes, crafts and fun things..........did not happen.....  The general upkeep of home, personal issues, and family ties did me in.....

Good news, I'm back on track, and waiting for the cool breezes, crisp air, and some Autumn color!!

Also, I did what I said that I would NEVER do.....bought a new set of dishes!!!!  Back in the Spring, I saw these dishes on 'Home is where the boat is' blog and fell in love, she stole my heart and wormed her way into my dreams, so flirty, so pretty and way toooooo sweet.......

You know how I love red........waited until the price and time was right, I then struck with my overloaded credit card, and ..... Boom, the box was on my doorstep!!!  Oh happy days!!!

Found the matching tins in England and added them to the mix.  This is a setting on my kitchen ledge, this all led to a new color in my kitchen and I went to town with it.....

Even on the stove!!!

And something new on the floor!!!

Even matching fruit!!

There were 2 dinner parties using the new china, but alas, no pics.........my next plan is to set a table scape....
I only bought the dinner and salad plates, mugs and the tin canisters.  I have other salad bowls, and soup bowls that coordinate perfectly......one soup bowl is holding the cherries, which I feasted on all summer!!!

Hope you are well and enjoying the end of summer, I am not, its' way toooooo hot for me!!!    But Autumn is just around the corner, and I have my front door open to welcome her in..........
