tiny treasures

This is a collection of tiny cuties I keep in this sweet cabinet in my powder room...I'll give you a tour....

I bought this little cabinet from a bath and bed shop before they went out of business...years ago....its a medicine cabinet and can be hung on the wall..........oh no, there is my reflection....so sorry!!!

Top shelf has a jade snuff bottle, pill box, tiny geodes, china doll set and my Girl Scout pins.....yes, I was even a senior scout and camp counselor.......so long ago!!!

Center shelf has a mini coin set of my birth year.....never mind.........another pill box, a muscle man from my son's collection that I found one day while cleaning out the hall closet, made me smile so I had to save it!!!  The two tie tacs are my Dad's union pins, one for 30 years and one for 40 years........two more snuff bottles, perfume bottle and my sorority pin from school..........talk about hanging on to things!!!

The bottom shelf has perfume bottles, another pill box and my son's Word of Life pin....

Close up of this sweet perfume bottle........I bought it so long ago at a flea market, because Eastman Kodak has its origins here, however, I don't think this is the same Eastman!!!  No matter, its a memory!!!

Thanks for stopping by.......

Summer

Hello my friends.....you have not heard from me in quite awhile now....this horrible summer of intense heat sucked the life right out of me!!!  Its been almost 3 months now that I am virtually a prisoner in my home with the AC full blast!!!  And praise God I have that comfort!!!

I have been fighting this Type II diabetes all year to avoid taking insuline but alas, I think I have failed.....we'll see next week..........then I was diagnosed with Lupus, which I don't think I have, but all the tests have proved positive.....and what do they know???  I can't do a thing without breaking into a major sweat, most days I am drenched and am busy taking numerous showers and changing clothes........I have had it......and earlier this week I just lost it, came home from shopping completely drenched, took more than an hour to cool down with cold cloths etc.......had a panic attack and broke out in hives on my chest and tummy, now that was a sight!!!  Enough of summer for me......go away!!!   I have accomplished nothing outside of the 2 garage sales I held......I lie around like a wilted lily with no interest in anything.......keeping my legs elevated to alleviate the swelling in my feet, ankles and legs.........no wait, I no longer have ankles......

Enough, thanks for listening, hope to feel better soon........am I the only one to be affected like this???

Managed to take a few pics of my cherry hutch today with the last of the summer decor in it, and I didn't even dust it, been like this all summer!!!

Then I made the first move to early Autumn in the foyer by changing out the floral on the wall.....

Hope you are all well, I have enjoyed visiting all your wonderful blogs and sometimes leaving comments, no need to answer me back, I just like to visit........and I am jealous that you all seem to have so much energy and I am always such a wet noodle.............come on Fall!!!!

Celebrate !!!

Let us celebrate liberty and freedom!!!

I've been so inspired by all the wonderful patriotic tablescapes, just had to join in the fun!!!

I just bought these cute starfish votive holders at Pier I...they are so cute!!!  The cobalt bottles are antique repros from Williamsburg......glass ware from TJM.

Heisey water pitcher.

I love the Colonial shape of this teapot, and the birds are so beautiful......

The red is looking kinda orange, but is really a red red.......

I love my faux veggies and my faux veggies love me.....right Shelia???

Now these next pics are of a stack of hearts, stained with tea and tied together.....the center heart has the names of the original 13 colonies......purchased about 35 years ago at Sturbridge Mass.

Cute or what!!!

Now these napkins are from Pier I a while ago, and I just wanted to say that I think they are the most wonderful quality......very soft and a good hand to the fabric......I think the little trim is hand crocheted or else they have some special machine to do this, never seen anything like it on any machine!!!

Well, that's it for now.........I haven't posted in more than two months now because it took that long to clean out my garage and hold a massive household and craft sale which was last weekend.......I am now recovering by taking lotsa naps!!!  However, I continued to visit all your blogs and enjoyed all your postings......good to be back....hugs.....cleo

April Snow

No pics for you today, ran out of batteries!!!  We had about 2 inches of wet white stuff last night, just enough to make a big mess and to lose power!!!  Power went off about 5 in the am.....to return around noon, however.....no phone service till about 2 this afternoon!!!  The smoke/fire alarms were chirping and one went off, which scared me to pieces and then I couldn't turn it off......so I climbed my handy stool and ended ripping it out of the ceiling........what a PITA !!!  Now that will have to be repaired along with the other one I ripped out of the ceiling on the last power outage!!!

South of us near my home town got 10 inches of snow....is that crazy or what???

Very difficult without power, no coffee, no clocks, no TV or radio, no toast, no laundry, no ironing, no sewing machine, no hot glue gun, no computer, no phone.......started to do some cross stitch but it was too dark to see very well and then got too cold to do anything........so went back to bed, no electric blanket, but had two cats to keep me warm!!!  Hope everyone affected has their power back on by now, this was not a fun time.....but at least we were safe.......

Here's to a better tomorrow!!!!

In the pink for Easter

Am sooooo busy baking and fussing, it never ends!!!  But took a short break to set an Easter/Spring table for two.....would show you the setting with the food tonight but it is meat loaf and potatoes with cold slaw, not very elegant on this table!!!

I mixed my wedding china with my mom's china trimmed in silver, and her pink depression glass serving pieces.....also my mom's silver.  Had to use paper napkins, I know, what was I thinking!!!  The linen ones are waiting to be ironed for Sunday.....not doing it now!!!  The white rabbit is a wood cut signed by the artist together with some more alabaster eggs and faux daffies.....small Heisey candlestick and little notebook I made.....kinda looks like a prayer book.....

The small eggs are a gift from my daughter long ago.....the red one is marble, while the green one is malachite.

Wishing all my blog buddies a very happy and blessed Easter season!!!

am joining Tablescape Thursday.http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/
