Today is the Fall Equinox, where night and day are equal.....they meet for a moment.  I, for one, am overjoyed to welcome the new season and look forward to the amazing transformation of colors, smells and sounds.  Its apple season here in upstate New York....time for cider, fry cakes, and Empire apples!!!  Love the cool, crisp nights, perfect for sleeping  or an evening stroll.....get to wear my favorite, worn, cordoroy jacket......snuggle under a blanket......and all those wonderful cool weather dishes, like pork roast with squash, apple pies, stew, bisquits, apple sauce, pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting.......

Goodbye to the summer from hell, I am not sad to see it go with that horrible continuous heat, and blaring, intense sunshine......bugs, and all that sweat!!!!

Wishing my fellow bloggers an enjoyable season of delights........Cleo

A touch of Fall

This set of dishes were my mom's.....purchased piece by piece at the super market....they were given to my daughter and someday she will have to come pick them up!!!
I am using a black tablecloth, white linen napkins, pumpkin rings from Hobby Lobby, paper leaves under the fruit cups....and my mom's silverware.....

The fruit cups are actually from the 1950's.....they came with JIf peanut butter in them, and my mom bought one every few weeks......we ate a lot of pb&j sandwiches!!
Shakers are part of my milk glass collection....
Butter dish from TJMaxx.....I have to stay away from there!!!    Butter knife was my grandmother's....
That's all for now.....I will be very busy loading my website for the holidays, not to mention crafting and sewing till the wee hours......happy Fall y'all......

Welcome Autumn

Using a floral and paisley wool/silk scarf, I set a dinner table with my mom's china and silver......

Italian linen napkins and beaded acorn rings....

I love the soup spoons to my mom's silver and use them often.....

My kitchen is not large enough for a dining area, so all meals are taken in the dining room, so it is very versatile!!!!  My sister and I divided my mom's things after her passing, each getting bits and pieces it seems.....when it came time for the china, which my mom used quite often....there were no cups or saucers left.....,they had all broken over the years!!!  And there are no marks on the china, I know she and my aunt bought their sets from a door to door salesman......the two ladies did everything together!!!
