Christmas Eve Supper

We had an all fish dinner for Christmas Eve as is the tradition in my Italian family....however I did not make all the interesting delicacies my mom did.....but we started with crab bisque in these cute leaf bowls I just found at TJM!!!!

I placed them on the ivy plate from my mom's set of dishes, and the dinner plate is Hadden Hall, the cup and saucer is Johnson Bros. Rose Chintz......don't know where the salad bowls are from, glassware you've seen before......same wonderful plaid tablecloth...

The oval serving platter is a Blue Ridge piece.....

Wish I had gotten a better pic of this set....covered creamer and sugar bowl in stick spatterware from France...part of a larger collection of spatterware.....

Holiday Brunch

After opening gifts on Christmas morning, I always served brunch in the kitchen, starting off with strawberries and sliced bananas in these pretty fruit cups collected from Avon.  I placed them on a doily atop a cranberry underplate, also collected from Avon.

I am using my favorite tablecloth in my favorite color....plaid!!!

I usually made eggs, bacon, toast, fruit cake, pancakes and of course.... tons of coffee......those were some special times in my life.......hope your Christmas was memorable!!!

Christmas Views

This manger set was my Mom's....as a child I remember many more pieces, it is from the 1940's or earlier, made of chalk, this is what's left and I treasure it!!!

Simple pleasures and treasures in the living room hutch.....

Christmas Table

I am joining Tablescape Thursday.....and have set my table for a family pasta supper for tonight.......using a sweet linen tablecloth, a wedding gift from my Aunt in Italy.......the dishes are my everyday set collected over a period of months from the grocery store about 18 years ago!!!

I like it to be colorful.....the salad bowls are also from a grocery store, and the pasta bowls from Pier I, a long time ago...stemware from TJM and made in Italy.....I just love those!!!

This large bowl for salad is an antique, I've had for a very long time....

The sugar and creamer are antique Heisey crystal, and the coffe pot in the Meisson pattern is also an antique...

Just got this cool mercury glass ornie from TJM, it is actually a gold color.....Merry Christmas everyone!!!
