Today is the Fall Equinox, where night and day are equal.....they meet for a moment. I, for one, am overjoyed to welcome the new season and look forward to the amazing transformation of colors, smells and sounds. Its apple season here in upstate New York....time for cider, fry cakes,and Empire apples!!! Love the cool, crisp nights, perfect for sleeping or an evening stroll.....get to wear my favorite, worn, cordoroy jacket......snuggle under a blanket......and all those wonderful cool weather dishes, like pork roast with squash, apple pies, stew, bisquits, apple sauce, pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting.......
Goodbye to the summer from hell, I am not sad to see it go with that horrible continuous heat, and blaring, intense sunshine......bugs, and all that sweat!!!!

I am SO there with you, Cleo! Here in the St. Louis area, it's been an even hotter and more humid summer than of late. Today, in fact....high temp in the low 90's. Yuck! I can't wait for the cooler temps and all the things you described!!
