Welcome Autumn

Using a floral and paisley wool/silk scarf, I set a dinner table with my mom's china and silver......

Italian linen napkins and beaded acorn rings....

I love the soup spoons to my mom's silver and use them often.....

My kitchen is not large enough for a dining area, so all meals are taken in the dining room, so it is very versatile!!!!  My sister and I divided my mom's things after her passing, each getting bits and pieces it seems.....when it came time for the china, which my mom used quite often....there were no cups or saucers left.....,they had all broken over the years!!!  And there are no marks on the china, I know she and my aunt bought their sets from a door to door salesman......the two ladies did everything together!!!

Paisley is one of my very favorite patterns, and I particularly love it in fall colors like in this table.

I grinned at your comment about your mother and aunt buying dishes from the door to door saleman. I know that's where we got several of our little extra pieces around here, according to my mom.

And my sister and I would be like your mom and aunt.

Great table. It made me smile.

Paisley is the perfect backdrop for a fall setting. Like you, I like to use my scarves on my tables. How nice that you have your mom's china. Makes dining all the more special. Thank you for sharing this lovely setting.

That scarf is so pretty on the table. I loved hearing about how your mom got her dishes. They are lovely.

Your Mama's beautiful china pops perfectly against the gorgeous wool scarf. I have a pair of Russian wool scarves that I use in much the same way at this time of year. They are so interesting integrated into a tablescape! I love that your mom and her sister did so much together, and it sounds like your sister and you both appreciate the precious family treasures that you now have for a season. Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay

What a pretty fall tablescape -- you're welcoming in autumn quite beautifully. Love your mom's china -- Family pieces are the best, because of the wonderful memories attached.
