Pileated Woodpecker

This is special for Susan at BNOTP........my woodpecker is here almost every evening, working away on this old tree stump!!!

This is my little garden with tree stump in the center to the right of the bird bath.....

He arrives at about 20 min. to 6..........

He has tired of that spot and mover to another.  Every now and then he goes to the top of the stump and flaps his wings at the pottery bird there......

A large chunk falls off......

Very busy.......

Robins in the bird bath and not bothered by him......

All done for today.......he flew away about 6:15.    The quality of the pics are not the best, taken through my glass door, afraid to make noise and he would fly away!!!

Interesting the amount of damage in a short space of time!!!  But so fun to watch!!!  So, Susan, this is what happened to your bird house..........

Oh, look at the little booger! Wonder what he's trying to do? How wonderful you were able to get a snap of him. Hope you had a great Memorial Day.

Oh my goodness, would you look at him! I bet the sound of him pecking away at 6 in the morning is enough to drive you nuts!

They are industrious little fellows! Love to hear them, just don't like the damage they can do! You did great getting his picture! Neat post!

Hi Cleo! Are you still having your little visitor? I'm fascinated with woodpeckers. We used to have one when we lived in Waco and he would show up every afternoon and peck away! :) Thanks for popping in to see me and yes, you're very observant. We did bring the little round table and chairs from the breakfast room. I'll share that area next! Have a great weekend.
